Let’s talk about snails. Or, if you want, about the slowest Lego car. Well, don’t waste time!
This experiment involved a Lego car that was built by an engineer and a reduction gearbox with different gear ratios. We will detect time during each track.
First track: The gear ratio is 8:1 and the time to finish is just 4 seconds.
Second track: Gear ratio 192:1 and the car was moving so slow - until 96 seconds.
Excuse me, did I say that the second track was slow?! I WAS WRONG because during the 3-rd track I’ve even had enough time to sleep! If we add 24 tooth gears, the overall gear ratio is 4608:1. That’s why a Lego car spent 38 MINUTE!
You could think ‘it cannot be slower’. But you know what? Let’s add a reduction gearbox with a gear ratio of 3200000:1, the overall gear ratio of 14745600000:1, and the car will need to spend 234 YEARS to get to the finish line! It’s almost three human’s lives!
